I'm not normally one for "themed" clothing, but I saw these and thought they were so fun - and not too Halloween-y, tbh. If you like the whole skull aesthetic, they're absolutely in your wheel house! (I'm not much for it, but there are hearts in there, too - it's pretty cute.) There are non-GITD color options, but I specifically wanted that because, why not? The only con of the design being a material that has to glow, is that it's firmer/stiffer and holding onto wrinkles still after a couple washes (no wears) and air-dries. It's not terribly noticeable when stretched across the leg (especially if you go with a more form-fitting size, which you could - these are v. stretchy/forgiving), and I do think they'll ease out over time with use.--The GITD feature is standard and not super-long-lasting. I let the design sit in light all day, and they glow amazingly, but die down fairly quickly; I haven't timed it, but I'd guess you lose the glow in about 20 minutes...but it faintly glows all night, lol. Once my eyes adjusted to the dark, I had to think about what could possibly be glowing in that part of my room, then I realized what it was. It's for sure a novelty, but it's cute, and the glow recharges quickly if you have a flashlight or something (other than a phone screen) and you want to light it back up in the dark.Speaking to size: I'm pretty much always a M bottom (27" waist) but I always follow size charts - here the L fit a 27.5" waist and I didn't want to feel stuffed into these by trying to get into a M, designed for 26" waists. I'm very glad I went with the L, though the M would have stretched to fit and not been uncomfortable. They're nice and long for me (at/just past my ankles, but this will depend on your inseam) - I take a 27.5" inseam (which isn't a thing, it's just in a perfect world).I have a long torso so I pretty much never think a rise is high enough on a legging. I am so thrilled to say that this is a high-waisted legging!! Hallelujah, can I get an 'amen' out there?! When I first saw that the waistband was just thin elastic at the very top 1," I was a little bummed because those just aren't comfortable for me usually (and trying to untwist them after being washed is a nightmare), but these are very comfortable, and I only had to fight half as hard to untwist it after washing in a mesh laundry bag - it sort of started to help itself untwist part of the way around. The fabric feels a little rougher than any standard legging material ("brushed" or straight-up running-tights material), but they're very soft when on, somehow. Maybe because they're stretchy and feel thin (not sure if they are, but they do show lines)? Hard to say, but for me to say something is soft is honestly a high praise; I have eczema and a current skin-something that no one can figure out, so one entire lower leg is constantly a constellation of open wounds, or in the stages of healing (they never fully heal then come back fuller force than before). I'm in the midst of a really bad battle and I'm able to wear these with no irritation, and the only seams down the legs are interior - nothing to rub against where the skin is tender for me. (Outer seams of leggings are part of why I have the issue to begin with, and probably partially why it won't go away.) I'm not usually one for "leggings out and about during the day" after I'm done wearing them to actually exercise (is that what 'atheleisurewear' is? I'm not here for it.), but I would consider walking the dog around the block/neighborhood with a cozy tunic and some Adislides in these on a weekend. My enthusiastic comfort may come from the fact that I do have a smidge more room than if I fit the sizes better/them, me. But I'm almost always between and it stoinks, so I'm really happy with these which is nice after being let down so often by clothes. And Vine items aren't returnable, so I'm extra pleased they work.
